“Authentic pizza in Oaxaca”

5 de 5 estrellas
Fecha de la crítica: 31 dic 2008

«I recently spent nearly a month in Oaxaca, Mexico. As much as I loved the food there, I needed a break from Mexican every now and then. Lucky for me, I learned of Vieja Lira. Located a few blocks east of the zocalo near the corner of Independencia and Pino Suarez, this new little cafe is well run and full of surprises. Authentic thin crusted pizza, arugula salad, and one of the better wine lists I could find in the city. No where else could I find Italian wine of this quality or variety. Simone, the friendly Tuscan owner (who is fluent in Spanish and Italian, but only knows a little English), is usually on hand to see to great food and service for all his guests. Unlike many finer dining establishments in Oaxaca (note, just because it’s pizza, don’t assume it’s cheap), it is frequented by both locals and tourists. As a newer place, not many tourists know about it, and not many guide books or hotels include it — yet — in their lists of recommended places. If you want a non-Mexican dinner during your stay, don’t miss a visit to this restaurant.»
